Tonzia Buor, MBA became Vice President, Human Resources of TriStar Summit Medical Center in December 2022.

As Vice President of TriStar Summit, Tonzia works collaboratively with hospital leaders and the executive team to advance the people agenda and oversee engagement, recognition, retention, and recruitment of our colleagues. Tonzia and her team are tasked with developing a highly skilled and engaged workforce that demonstrates the highest competence and provide excellent patient experience.

Tonzia attended Hope College, Holland, Michigan and obtained an undergraduate degree in Political Science and later obtained a Master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) from Anderson University, Anderson, Indiana.

Tonzia has over 15 years experience in Human Resources. She began her career with a non-profit health system in Indiana and then joined HCA as a HR Business Partner at Swedish Medical Center in Englewood, Colorado. She then transitioned to the Assistant Director HR role at Swedish Medical Center becoming Vice President of Human Resources at North Suburban Medical Center, Thornton, Colorado in 2020.

Tonzia serves as a member of the Hope College Alumni Board of Directors, loves to travel and is highly involved in global mission work. Her family runs a non-profit that builds schools and runs microfinance loan programs in Liberia.
